So this weekend didn't go as planned. Friday night was just fine, my little man went to bed with some sniffles, but fell asleep fast. I got to watch a chick flick and open a bottle of wine. This was all fine with me, because I knew Saturday night I was going to go out, well this is what I thought at the time. But come Saturday morning my hubby is sick.....sick? NO, you can't be sick, we are going out, my parents are set to babysit, and I am set to have a drink and dinner with out anyone throwing chewed up food at me. But, there was no way around it, he was sick. I sadly informed our buddies that we couldn't go out, and that we needed to plan another time. With my hubby sick in the bedroom I was on my own with little man. Now, this is what happens all week right? Well, yes, but on the weekends I have become used to the extra set of hands around, and with my hubby off duty I just had my hands. After a fussy morning, I put my sniffly little guy down for a nap. I decide that I will head to my parents house after nap time and have dinner with them, since I know if I stay home we will have chicken noodle soup, and since I was going to go out, I at least want to leave the house for dinner. We get to my parents and I take a little break to go play Frisbee with my little brother{who is now taller than me} we walked through the playground I used to play on when I was little and I found myself criticizing all the play equipment. All of it just did not seem safe enough, sure I had never gotten hurt on it, but I didn't want my baby playing here.....I think I am still a little {okay a lot} over protective at this point, so hopefully by the time he hits Kindergarten I will relax a little. Since I don't think we should pick a school based on the safety of the playground equipment {well, not just that anyway.} We then go to get my Mom her mothers day gift. Along with her Kindle gift card I had my little brother get his haircut, this may sound silly for a gift, but my little brother hates getting his hair cut, and often refuses, so you can image how happy my Mom was to see that her son did have a neck under all that hair :) We then pick Red Robin for dinner. My little man lasts about two minutes {if that} in his highchair. Until the food comes we go play in the little game room.{better than running around the restaurant with a crazy little man} When it is time to eat my son decides he isn't hungry, but he would love to throw my salad everywhere. I somehow manage to eat my meal while holding my son in my lap. He is now being amused by ice cubes and strawberries, most of which end up on my carpi's. I stand up to find I am a mess, and it looks like I wet my pants....lovely. this is not quite the dinner out I had planned for the evening. Don't get me wrong, I love having dinner with my family, I just thought that I was going to be having a slightly calmer meal. My dad took the crazy man for a little bit so I could finish my drink, since I somehow ordered the biggest drink on the menu. We got home at bedtime and my little man fell right asleep. At 5 am on Mother's day my son was UP......but I gave him a bottle and convinced him to sleep a little longer. Coupons were disappointing this morning, only one insert. But I can't complain because despite the lack of coupons today I have an amazing trip planned with my friend tomorrow. My hubby was still sick so I decided to head out with my little guy for some lunch, and of course I had to find a good deal. So we went to Tokyo Joes, where not only do I like the food, but Mom's eat free on Mother's day! When my son went down for his nap I headed out to Target to get myself a coupon binder, yes I want a binder for my coupons. I had a simple plan, cute binder, notebook, and sleeves for baseball cards to hold my coupons....but no, they had no such sleeves, all sold out....okay, I'll head over to office depot.....nope....just business card sleeves, these were too small to hold my coupons so I gave up and headed home { I did get a cute binder, but it is useless until Target gets in more of the sleeves I need...too bad} So as soon as I walk in the door my little guy wakes up, my hubby always gets lucky, I am always home just in time. I get my little sweetheart and..... he throws up on me....so that's where all those sniffles were going.... I was almost positive this was due to all his extra mucus, but just in case I set him on towels and turned on a cartoon while I cleaned him up and started laundry. At this point I figure it was best that we had no plans. He doesn't get sick again and eats plenty for dinner, so now I just hope those sniffles go away so we don't have the same thing happen again. Once he is in bed I walk the dog, as usual. I am headed back towards the apartment when I notice I have the diaper bag with me....I don't even remember grabbing it, and I really didn't need to, I guess I am in such a routine of needing it when I leave that I just grabbed it without thinking. The crazy thing was that I really didn't notice it until we headed home.... I am going crazy, its official now. After a shower to wash the smell of throw up off me and out of my hair I decide to have some ice cream...okay a lot of ice cream. But I told myself it was okay, it was my own little Mother's day celebration. I hope to wake up to a happy little man so we can go on with our fun coupon shopping plans. I am happy I spent my Mother's day with my little man, since he is the reason I get to celebrate at all, and wow is he a great reason to celebrate.
